A coach is someone who will support, challenge, and motivate you to achieve your goals. A coach is an active listener and will encourage you to move forward, celebrate your successes, and help you overcome obstacles. With a coach you will reach goal more quickly than you would on your own.
A career coach focuses only on you and your career goals. A career coach is aware of the interplay between you as a career explorer and you as a family member, breadwinner, caregiver, and whole person.
As a consultant, I share knowledge I have gained from helping hundreds of liberal arts graduates, of all ages, develop the skills and materials needed for a successful job search.
We'll start with a review of what has happened since we last met--the progress you have made on the actions you had committed to complete. Then you set a ‘session goal’ that will define our work for that day. We'll talk about what you have already tried, what worked, and the obstacles you see in moving forward. After exploring all the possible next steps, you will decide which of them you will take.
Together we will set the terms of your commitment to move forward to your goal.
This depends on what you want to achieve with your coaching and what life and work experience you bring to our conversation For some this may take as little as four sessions and for others it will be more. It is a very personal decision based on your individual goal.
Let's start with a free exploratory call to discuss your goals and to make sure our styles are a good match. If we decide to proceed together, we will discuss how my coaching can meet your specific needs. As a coaching team, we will develop a plan to get you on your way!
